The Shin Do (reg. assoc.) was founded in1996 by members of the Buddhist Association Jodo Shinshu Germany (BGJD) and friends. ShinDo (Shinjin Dojo means "place of trustfully buddhist practicing") acts in the order of the single members of the BGJD in the public and has a special local meaning as the only buddhist center in the district. It lines common events up together with other buddhist schools, supports actively an interreligious dialogue and is engaged in an hospice group. Reverend Thomas Moser is ordained by the japanese mother temple Nishi Hongan-ji in Kyoto.

He regularly holds Shin buddhist services twice a week with Seiza meditation (short attentiveness meditation) as well as conversation circles for members and guests. The interested public is invited to the anniversaries and special events.
The members meet for annual meetings, for the Hoonko festival of the Eko house and international european conferences in the distance of two years. The community of BGJD including ShinDo learns recognition and support by the Jodo Shinshu temple "Eko-Ji" in Duesseldorf and by the IABC in Kyoto, Japan.
